MEET DUSTY MOATS, Country Music Artist from Fort Worth, Texas

For more than 30 years, Dusty Moats has been doing what he was born to do — playing country music loud, proud, and straight from the soul.

His journey began in the 1990s, grinding it out in Texas honky-tonks, smoky dance halls, and anywhere they would clear a corner for a band and plug in a neon beer sign. Since then, that road has stretched far beyond the Lone Star State, carrying him across the United States and overseas with tours throughout the United Kingdom and Ireland as he continues spreading Texas country one stage at a time.

Along the way, Dusty has shared bills and backstage hallways with some of the biggest names in music, including Willie Nelson, Alan Jackson, Kenny Chesney, Gary Allan, Toby Keith, Miranda Lambert, Montgomery Gentry, Joe Diffie, Trace Adkins, Tracy Byrd, Mark Chesnutt, Tanya Tucker, STYX, Def Leppard, Journey, Steve Miller Band, B.B. King, Stoney LaRue, Pat Green, Wade Bowen, Cross Canadian Ragweed, Randy Rogers Band, Casey Donahew, Deryl Dodd, and many more.

One of the most memorable moments of his career came when he and his band stepped into the headline slot at Billy Bob's Texas in place of the legendary Chris LeDoux while LeDoux was battling illness. It was an honor that remains one of Dusty's proudest career memories. He has performed at festivals across the country as both a supporting act and featured artist and has taken the stage at historic Gruene Hall as a solo performer and alongside his Fender Bender collaborators, the Squeezebox Bandits.

Every show, every handshake, and every mile has added another chapter to a story that is still being written.

Music was never optional for Dusty. It was in his blood from the very beginning. Influenced by his mother's work alongside respected country and pop artists, he grew up around songs, studios, and the kind of real music conversations that shape how you hear a lyric and feel a melody. That foundation still shows up every time he takes the stage, whether it's an intimate acoustic performance or a full-band dancehall throwdown.

And make no mistake, a Dusty Moats show is not a sit-down affair.

It's a high-energy, boots-on-the-floor experience packed with singalongs, dancing, classic country favorites, and original songs that feel like they've been part of your life for years.

While many know Dusty as a performer, songwriting has always been at the heart of what he does. Throughout his career, he has written and co-written songs recorded by numerous artists, helping tell stories through voices beyond his own. His songwriting catalog spans traditional country, honky-tonk, Texas country, and contemporary country styles, earning respect from fellow artists and industry professionals alike. Whether writing for himself or collaborating with others, Dusty's approach has always been rooted in authenticity, melody, and the kind of lyrics that connect with everyday people.

Like many artists, Dusty's path hasn't been a straight line. After spending years building his career, life and responsibility pulled him away from music for a season. But the passion never left. In his late forties, he made the decision to step back into the spotlight and chase the dream with the same determination that fueled those early dancehall days.

What followed became one of the great comeback stories in independent country music.

Since returning to the stage, Dusty has amassed more than one million streams worldwide, earned multiple Texas radio chart successes, landed No. 1 songs internationally, toured throughout the United Kingdom and Ireland, earned four Josie Music Award nominations, captured EP of the Year honors for Under The Neon, and watched his music connect with audiences around the globe.

Proof that sometimes the best chapters are the ones you write later in life.

The hard work has paid off. Dusty has earned multiple No. 1 singles, including Honky Tonk Ways and E, along with numerous Top 40 releases across Texas, national, and international radio. His music has found audiences far beyond state lines, with Under The Neon reaching No. 1 in Australia and climbing to No. 3 in the United Kingdom while continuing to gain traction throughout Europe and beyond.

In 2024, he teamed up with the Squeezebox Bandits for Fender Bender from the Under The Neon EP, a song that gained international attention for its tribute to Hispanic country legend Freddy Fender. Momentum continued to build as BAYOU climbed charts throughout Texas, across the United States, and overseas. The title track Under The Neon, written by Brad Russell and Kyle Fambro, earned Song of the Year honors from the Texas Music Chart, creating a milestone moment for everyone involved.

That success led to four nominations at the 2025 Josie Music Awards, including Male Artist of the Year, Male Vocalist of the Year, Song of the Year, and EP of the Year. Under The Neon went on to capture EP of the Year, marking one of the most significant achievements of Dusty's career to date and further cementing his place among today's independent country artists.

Beyond performing and recording, Dusty has become a respected figure behind the scenes of the industry as well. As the founder of Powerhouse Promotions, he has helped countless independent artists navigate radio promotion, marketing, booking, artist development, and career strategy. His passion for helping artists build sustainable careers has made him a trusted voice within the Texas and independent country music communities.

Yet the story is far from over.

Dusty's continued success on Texas radio keeps his music in heavy rotation on the stations and in the dance halls that helped build his name. Through his annual Texas To You Tour, he continues carrying Texas country music to growing audiences throughout Ireland and the United Kingdom, building an international fan base one show at a time.

Now, with 2026 underway, the engine is running stronger than ever.

Upcoming releases include the crowd-favorite anthem Feelin' Willie Good, the late-night dancehall groove Drinkin' 'Bout You, the heartfelt love song Me, You, and Mexico, and the rowdy honky-tonk anthem Bad Day To Be A Beer.

Fans can also look forward to one of Dusty's most personal projects yet — Mama's Riviera, an EP celebrating the classic country songs he grew up listening to while riding around with his mom and dad. It is a labor of love rooted in family, nostalgia, and the music that helped shape the artist he would become.

Each release showcases a different side of Dusty's artistry while staying firmly grounded in the traditional country soul that fans have come to know and love.

With new music on deck, radio momentum growing, and tour miles stacking up on both sides of the Atlantic, 2026 is shaping up to be another remarkable year.

Because if you know Dusty Moats, you know he isn't looking in the rearview mirror.

He's still on the road.

Still writing songs.

Still helping artists build careers.

Still carrying Texas country music across state lines and across oceans.

Still packing dance floors.

Still chasing the next great song.

And after more than three decades in country music, countless miles, millions of streams, international chart success, and some of the biggest honors of his career...

Dusty Moats is still doing what he loves most. And he's just getting warmed up.
